Ranked among some of America’s most treasured islands including Hilton Head, South Carolina, the Outer Banks, North Carolina, and even Nantucket, Massachusetts, Mackinac Island lands in the Number 12 spot as a “charming resort-like destination that’s filled with natural attraction sites and history."

2. Mackinac is a celebratory outpost for the slow life and the night life…, and Mackinac Island Rum Company has you covered on both fronts. Check out the brand’s new products that now join the #1 selling Michigan made rum including their 8-year bourbon barrel Aged Rum made with Mackinac Island fudge. The Mackinac Island Rum Company opened in May 2021 as the first ever distillery tasting room on Mackinac Island, one of the top destinations in the world.

3. Heading to Mackinac Island today, The Viking Octantis, a newly built vessel for this year, is on its way to America’s Favorite Island. MLIVE reports that 310 visitors are currently onboard and according to the media outlet: “One of the big draws of a Viking cruise like this, which also sails to places like Antarctica, is the intimate settings and the educational aspects and plethora of observation and viewing areas.”
